Why Holiday Homes Better Than Hotels? Europe Vacations

Every one in three Americans want to vacation in the scenic Europe. Some of them have European heritage like Italian, French, German etc-etc and others wish to go to have a good time. The Americans want to go to the beautiful places they have read about in the books, or seen on TV or in the movies. Many of the Americans are not aware of the geography of the European region, but they do appreciate the culture, food and other related things. Nowadays, there is a new trend has been grown – ‘Vacation Homes’. These are the properties that are available to rent for the vacations by anyone. Today, you can find a vacation home in most parts of the world. People are renting vacation homes when they go to Europe. They prefer these holiday homes over the Hotels. And the reasons behind doing so are numerous. First and foremost, talk about the bills, the hotels charge a lot compared to the vacation homes. On the other hand, the vacation homes offer a homely atmosphere at reasonable prices and even you can negotiate the charges. You get a whole house when you hire a vacation home rather than a small room in a hotel, so naturally the space you get is not comparable by any means. In a vacation home, you get your own kitchen, your own drawing room, your own dining room, a balcony too and a garden too. You cannot get all these things in a hotel. When you check-in to a hotel, you need to depend on the hotel menu for all your breakfasts/lunches and dinners during your stay, however when you hire a holiday home, you can prepare your favorite meals in the kitchen by ordering the vegetables from the local market. So, you do not need to suppress your desire to eat your favorite meal while you vacation in Europe if you stay in a holiday home. Another thing is privacy – when you stay at a hotel, you have to use the same entry and exit ways as the all the others guests do besides other things like swimming pool etc-etc, so naturally it takes extra time when you are with the crowd. However, you get complete privacy when you stay in a vacation home, you can use private swimming pool that is for you only, private dining and everything is limited to you and your family, so that really makes you feel special and nice. Needless to say, that it gives a peaceful environment too. In Europe, you can find good vacation homes that are located in the countryside, but the hotels are in the cities only. So, you get a picturesque view from the windows of your vacation home while you holiday in the Europe continent. You can explore the countryside by walking into the villages to visit the locals, you can know about their culture and their lives. Also, if you prefer a more urban setting, you can hire a [...]

The Difference Between Hotels, Vacation Homes and a Bed and Breakfast

When it is time to take the family on vacation, most of us think only about getting a hotel room. Sure, we might also consider a tent campground, a RV or travel trailer, and possibly even a beach condo, but how many of us realize that we have more choices for a place to sleep while on vacation? To be honest, I am a pretty smart guy and I have been doing the vacation thing, first with my parents and then with my wife and kids, but until a few years ago, I never knew there was such a thing as a bed and breakfast or vacation home rental. I only become aware of these alternate types of vacation accommodations when I was in my early thirties – a decade ago. The Campground Experience My dad knew about hotels of course, but he would never consider spending money in such a wasteful manner. Until I was twelve, we only stayed in a tent when we went on vacation. Three years in a row, we got caught out in massive downpours while we were camping. Our tent – although pretty nice – leaked when it rained. Three vacations in a row, we had to pack up and leave in the middle of the night, after we woke to find ourselves in an inch of water inside our tent. My mother had a great deal of influence over my dad… in a weird kind of way. After three years of ruined vacations, she put her foot down. She told him that we would never spend our vacations in a tent again. She got her way, but not in the way she expected. She won her argument; we never again spent our vacation in a tent. But dad got his way too; we never did spend money on a hotel room, instead, we spent his vacation in our own house. After I was twelve, we never again took a family vacation. Well, that is almost true. When I was sixteen, dad bought one of those pop-up campers. When I was sixteen, we took a family vacation and stayed in the pop-up camper travel trailer. But wouldn’t you know… it rained and the camper leaked too. So that was the final end of our family vacations. The Hotel Experience As an adult, I did not have the same kind of qualms my father had about hotels. When my wife and I went to Las Vegas for our honeymoon, we stayed at the Stratosphere hotel. From our overpriced hotel room, we were able to look out our window and see… the concrete wall at the base of the tower. It was awesome. After our kids were born, we took two vacations to San Antonio, where we stayed with my wife’s aunt and uncle. But the drive down was pretty lengthy, so we caught hotel rooms in transit. We would catch a hotel room for one night on the way to San Antonio, and we [...]
